Oxand, an international consulting and solutions provider that deliver solutions to optimize investment and maintenance costs of physical assets throughout their lifecycle, has developed a specific gameplay for the PETEX 2016 conference at no charge.

In this ‘Risk Management Game’ participants will be part of a project team that has to deliver in the North Sea a major, risky asset management project in time and within budget.

Each game consists of 4 phases: design, drilling, production and late life/ decommissioning and delegates can sign up for each or all of the phases. At the end of the fourth phase, there will be a debriefing session reviewing the entire lifecycle of the project.

The Design Phase:
-This is the first phase of the Oil & Gas Risk Management Game. Participants are expected to apply their understanding of risks and how to mitigate them to ALARP, to best complete the Design phase project.

-Risks awareness and project time management are key factors to closely monitor. Teams will be supplied the list of possible risks likely to occur during the planning stage. This will cover prevention of wellbore collapse through adequate mud weight and up to the reduction of non-productive time during the design phase.

-Your task is to ensure you have adequately made a plan for each of the risk listed in this phase.

-You are advised to closely monitor time and cost, during the selection of appropriate preventive measure.

Be aware!!! In case your team have chosen not to mitigate any risk, be prepared to face the consequence(s)! With this in mind, Oxand’s Risk Management Game is fun to play. Enjoy
